FHE

We had FHE over at Josh and Steph's last night. It was the most I have laughed in a long time. (However, I do have to say, we laugh like that at most FHE's; as long as both Jenn W and Steph are there.)

Steph and Josh had us play Weight Trivia, like we did at camp in August. It was so funny to see that just since then, we have forgotten so much. The two best were mom and dad of course. Dad forgot that he was the one who wanted to learn to play the saxophone. Mom forgot she wanted to travel down the CA coastline. They both claim senility. They are both so out of it. ;)

The best part of the game was the "gifts" we got for correct answers. Steph said they were trying to get rid of extra stuff around the house. I didn't think anything of it when I got the first one and it was a bath set. However, the 2nd one went to Jenn W. Hehehe. She opened it and saw it was bubble bath as Steph said, "only slightly used." That was all it took. Jenn went on the rest of the night about how they had used the stuff, how special we all felt about getting their used stuff, and so on. It was so freakin funny. Jenn's second gift was a jar of applesauce. Steph said she had bottled so much of it, she didn't want it to get old. Jenn said she loved getting food with the word "old" attached to them. Then, when Wendee got some applesauce also, she saw the expiration date was 2/21/09, the day before the party. It was way hilarious.

The funniest part of the night had to be when mom was trying to make Jason feel better about turning 30. He was complaining of getting old. She said that her and dad were going to celebrate their 32nd wedding anniversary next month, so at least he isn't as old as that.... ??!! Jason was crushed to think he might of been born out of wedlock, if she would have been married less years. HeHeHe. It was classic mom. :)

I am so grateful for my family. My brothers made excellent choices for their spouses. My sister-in-laws are really the best. They are always there to lend a hand, make you laugh, and support you in any way possible. I have the best family!!

Dreams

I had the most bizarre dreams last night. I usually don't dream, or at least not a lot. Last night, I actually fell asleep before 11pm, but then, I woke up 3-4 times from weird and scary dreams.

There was one where the kids and I were at Taco Bell. I had gotten up to get a drink or something. When I was going back to the table with the kids, there was a woman who had her feet up on a table and was blocking my way. The kids were right behind her legs, so I asked her if I could get by to get to my kids. She laughed and just raised her legs higher.

I tried stepping over her legs. She raised them up to trip me. For some reason, I got really angry and threw myself onto her, trying to attack her.

The next thing I knew, I was on my bedroom floor slammed into my dresser. ?! I had actually thrown myself off my bed! It was insane. I haven't fallen off the bed in I don't even know how long. There I was, laying on the floor, and aching in several places because of how I landed. I think I hit my foot on the corner of my dresser, because it is bruised and still sore this morning.

So it took awhile to go back to sleep after that. I was hurting and totally weirded out by what had happened. Even after I got to sleep again, I kept having the strangest dreams and waking up from them. So there is another night without much sleep. :(

So bizarre.

I hate stupid people!!!

The last two days at work have been crazy. Ok, well, not the whole time, but there have been 3 specific instances that have just driven me crazy! I must admit that I have not slept more than 4 hours a night for the last 5 days, so that may add to it, but these people are so stupid!

Yesterday, I had a resident call me and ask why we held their check so long. I guess he gave us checks for rent on 1/23 and we did not cash them until 2/5. This isn't our normal practice, but it sometimes happens. I explained to him the reasons why we may have held it that long. He says that because we held the checks, the bank had to draw from their overdraft and there were fees due now. I apologize and said that he shouldn't have written checks that he didn't have the money for. He said that at the time he wrote them, there was money there. However, because we held them, it looked like they had money so they spent it. I said I was sorry, but again, he shouldn't have spent money he didn't have. I told him that unfortunately we sometimes hold payments and he should have the money to cover the checks. He loudly said again that they had it when they wrote the checks and we are to blame for his fees. He hung up then.

Ok. How is it in any way, shape, or form our fault that he doesn't know how to manage a bank account? I was furious. Then, when I tell our assistant manager, he said we will probably end up covering the fees if he calls again. ???!!! You have got to be kidding me!! Because some schmuck doesn't keep track of his money, we pay his penalty for him. UGH!

Today, I get a call from a resident and he said he got a letter about a late rent payment. He said we ran them early this month. I explained that rent is due on the 1st, we give a 5 day grace period, and we didn't run late charges until today, the 10th. I said that gave him a 10 day grace period and asked if there was a problem, thinking maybe he didn't realize what day it was or that he had turned in the payment already. He said the letter said the last payment was 12/31/08 and he didn't' know what the new charge was. ???!!! WHAT?! Did he not realize rent was due every month?!

I explain that the payment on 12/31 was for January's rent, and now rent, storage, parking, and gas were due for February. He asked, and I quote, "When do we pay rent?" I say again that rent is due on the 1st and late by the 5th. He got angry and said, "No. When do we pay rent?" I am utterly confused now and again say that rent is due on the 1st of every month.

He angrily declares that he does not like my tone. ??? So I said, (admittedly at this point with a "tone"), that I did not understand what he was asking. I asked if he meant when they usually turn the rent in, thinking this might be it. He says of course that was what he was asking. I again tell him that the last payment we received was on December 31st, and that payment was for January's rent. He gets all huffy and says he'll bring a check down tonight.

I don't get it...He has lived there over a year, so he should know when rent is due and when he pays it!!! Idiot. AARGGHH!!!

Then, just an hour after that phone call, I had a prospective resident come in. I had showed her an apartment last week and she came to turn her application in. I won't go into too many details; let's just say that this girl has issues. She spent over an hour last week telling me everything about her 3 previous evictions, her lousy credit, the people who treat her wrong, and on and on. Today was the same. I had told her last week that if she doesn't qualify, and everything she told me implied she won't, then she will have to have a co-signer or pre-pay the full amount of the lease.

So when she comes in today, she sits in front of me for over an hour again!!! She (painstakingly slowly) fills out her app, the whole time blabbing again that she doesn't think she will qualify and she can't get her acquaintances to speak to her about co-signing, and on, and on, and on, and on, and ON!! For over an hour!! I am ready to just throw her out, but have to keep smiling and pretending I care. UNBEARABLE!!

ARGH! SHEESH! DANG! BLECH! SHOOT! DRAT! ENOUGH ALREADY!!

Wheew. Ok. I think it's out now. But really, stupid people really kill me sometimes.
